McKlezie was born In Newark NJ to a very young couple. Soon after his birth his parents separated, and shortly thereafter he relocated to Germany with his mom. McKlezie was interested in music at a very young age, and began writing music at the tender age of 3 years old. After living in Germany for awhile, he moved back to the US, finally making South Florida his permanent residence. Furthering his love of music while in school he participated in musical activities such as chorus and band. He also took up learning instruments like piano, cello, and drums. At the age 12 McKlezie started pursuing his musical career on a professional level, working in different studios perfecting his musical craft and writing skills.
While signed with Iconz Music Group McKlezie got his first break at success with the International Smash Hit “Get Crunked Up” which he wrote and performed. From there he started working with celebrities such as, Lil Kim, Beenie Man, B.O.B., Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, and many others. Leaving Iconz Music Group McKlezie took a musical hiatus to concentrate more on his family, and his daughter.
In 2006 McKlezie started his record label Grind Mode Ent, and formed the Group Grind Mode. He enlisted the help of different local artists for whom he admired in the streets. Soon thereafter, came his second International Single “I’m So High” which he wrote and co-produced with producer Gorilla Tek. McKlezie making his mark in the music industry by writing, producing, and gracing stages internationally, he branded himself as “The Carol City Golden Kid” After the success of “I’m So High”, McKlezie and his sound was in high demand, which led him to branch off into his solo career. He later released his first solo mixtape “Follow The Leader”, which garnered him mild success throughout Florida.
McKlezie has numerous musical influences that range from Bob Marley, Prince, Big Daddy Kane, Jay-Z, and Outkast. His musical style is a blend of all genres that embodies the perfect chemistry for a mainstream artist. “I have always been different when it comes to my music. I couldn’t stand being like anyone else, I always lived outside the box, and with my wide range of music it made it easy for me. “Never doubt the art that is given to you”. “No one can take what is meant for you. “You should know if you don’t grind, you don’t shine”. “The industry has its rules, not the music”. With that being said, those words keep McKlezie in “GRIND MODE!”

McKlezie released his Break Out Single “All About Me” on ITunes In October 2010. With His new album in the works entitled : ” AAM:Thrillers No Fillers” with features from artists such as: B.O.B., Flo Rida, and Grind Mode, he is ready to capture the hearts, minds, and souls of all audiences across the world.
